Industries / Government & public works
Estimating that stays inside your walls.
Public agencies and the contractors who serve them can’t always put cost data in someone else’s cloud. Sage Estimating runs on-premise, so it can be installed on your own servers and inside your own security boundary — including environments built to FedRAMP and other federal requirements. We set it up to meet your IT and compliance team where they are.

What’s different here
What makes estimating different here.
Where the data lives matters
Many agencies can’t send estimate data to a commercial cloud. Because Sage Estimating is installed on-premise, the database stays on infrastructure you control, under the security controls you already audit.
Compliance is part of the scope
FedRAMP, FISMA, state data-residency rules, and internal IT policy all shape how the system is installed, accessed, and backed up. That work belongs in the implementation plan, not after it.
Engineer’s estimates have to hold up
An independent cost estimate gets compared against every bid received. It needs a documented cost basis and history that can be reviewed long after award.
Public bid formats
Bid schedules, pay items, and units are set by the owner and have to match exactly — the same discipline as public civil work, with more scrutiny.
How we set it up
What the implementation includes.
Kickoff to live in weeks, not months, using the internal tools we’ve built for implementation.
- On-premise installation on your own servers, inside your security boundary
- SQL Server configuration and user permissions set to your IT and compliance requirements
- A database organized around your pay items, units, and standard specifications
- Estimate history and cost basis kept in a form your reviewers and auditors can follow
- Reporting formatted for engineer’s estimates, bid tabulations, and budget requests
- Training for estimators and project managers on your own data
